Nine of Wands

Nine of Wands

Suit of Wands

Wounded, watchful, still standing.

The Nine of Wands is the card of resilience, the figure standing wounded but still standing. Eight wands behind him form a fence; he holds the ninth. The Nine is the moment when you've been tested and you keep going.

Upright

Drawing this card often signals near the end of a long stretch. You're tired. You've also come this far. The Nine asks you to keep watch one more day.

Reversed

Reversed, the Nine of Wands is exhaustion that's tipped into stubbornness, or paranoia from too many past blows. The card reversed asks where the boundary is between vigilance and rigidity.

It can also indicate ready to give up. The Nine reversed says: ask for help. You don't have to keep watch alone.
