The Lovers

Major Arcana

Two roads, one true yes.

The Lovers is the card of choice, alignment, and union: between people, between parts of yourself, between what you say you want and how you actually live. It's about the moment two things come together and become more than they were apart.

Upright

Union
Choice
Alignment
Desire

Drawing The Lovers often means you're at a junction that requires honesty. A real choice is being asked of you, and the choice has to come from values, not convenience. The Lovers doesn't reward the easy answer. It rewards the honest one.

Reversed

Disharmony
Wrong choice
Cold feet

Reversed, The Lovers points to misalignment. There's a gap between what you say matters and what you're actually choosing. Sometimes that gap is in a relationship; sometimes it's between you and yourself.

It can also indicate avoidance: refusing to make the choice the situation is asking for. The Lovers reversed says the decision will eventually be made, whether you make it or not. Better that it's yours.
