The High Priestess

Major Arcana

The answer hums beneath the noise.

The High Priestess is the card of inner knowing. She sits between worlds, the conscious and the subconscious, the known and the unknown, and her gift is the part of you that already knows the answer, even when your mind is still arguing about it.

Upright

Mystery
The unseen
Inner voice

Drawing The High Priestess is often a reminder to stop talking long enough to listen. She doesn't deal in proof. She deals in the quiet, unmistakable sense of what's true. If you've been ignoring a feeling lately, she's pointing right at it.

Reversed

Secrets kept too long
Ignored instinct
Static

Reversed, The High Priestess suggests a disconnect from your own intuition, either because you're not listening, or because someone or something has been talking over it. You might be relying on outside opinion when the answer has been sitting in you the whole time.

It can also point to secrets, yours or someone else's. The High Priestess reversed often shows up when something hidden is starting to surface, whether you're ready for it or not.
