King of Wands
Suit of Wands
He sees it before it exists.
The King of Wands is the visionary leader, a person who sees what's possible and has the will to build it. His authority is creative; his throne is forward motion. The King is what happens when ambition is married to follow-through.
Upright
- Leadership
- Vision
- Boldness
- Charisma
Drawing this card often signals leadership. Either someone is showing up that way for you, or you're being asked to. The King reminds you that vision without action is daydreaming.
Reversed
- Impulsiveness
- Domineering
- Ruthlessness
Reversed, the King of Wands is leadership that's gone tyrannical, or ambition that's lost its direction. The card reversed asks whether your power is in service of something or just feeding itself.
It can also indicate hesitation to take the lead when the lead is yours to take. The King reversed asks: who else, if not you?
