The Five of Wands is the card of competition, scuffle, and the chaos of too many people trying to be heard at once. Five figures wave their wands in mismatched directions. Not war, exactly, but a lot of noise.

Reversed, the Five of Wands is conflict resolving, or conflict avoided. The noise is settling. People are starting to listen instead of just talking.
It can also indicate internal conflict, different parts of you pulling against each other. The Five reversed asks what they each want.
