the fool
Oh babe, this is the leap card. Eyes a little closed, heart wide open, no real plan, and that's kind of the plan.
Upright The Fool
The Fool is the card of beginnings: pure, unguarded, slightly reckless ones. It shows up when you're at the edge of something new and don't yet know enough to be afraid of it. The Fool's gift is innocence, and the risk is the same.
Drawing The Fool is often a permission slip. It's the card that says you don't have to have it all figured out before you start. You just have to take the step. The Fool walks off the cliff with a smile because The Fool trusts that the ground will appear.

Reversed The Fool
Reversed, The Fool is naivety without intuition. It's the moment when you're about to leap, but you're leaping for the wrong reason: to escape, to impress, to prove something. The Fool reversed asks you to slow down and check whether the freedom you're chasing is real, or a story you're telling yourself.
It can also mean playing it too safe. You've been wanting to begin something for a while, and you keep finding excuses not to. The Fool reversed says: you don't actually need more information. You need to start.
