Nine of Cups

nine of cups

The wish card, honey. Name the actual wish, the real one, not the polite one.

Upright Nine of Cups

The Nine of Cups is sometimes called the wish card. A figure sits proudly in front of nine arranged cups, contented, satisfied, his fortune visible. The Nine asks you to be specific about what you want, and to receive it when it arrives.

Drawing this card often signals fulfillment. Something you wanted has come, or is about to. The Nine asks you not to skip past it, but to actually let the satisfaction land.

Be specific about what you want. Receive it when it arrives.

Reversed Nine of Cups

Reversed, the Nine of Cups is wishing without specificity. You're holding a vague desire and waiting for the universe to figure it out. The card reversed asks for the actual sentence.

It can also indicate getting what you wanted and discovering it wasn't what you actually wanted. The Nine reversed isn't punishment; it's information.
